one room?

The lovely Bloomstudio invited me to an interesting challenge of posting one interior image that encompasses my design style.  My first thought was, "oh no, just one?  That will be impossible!"

And it was.  At least for me.  Perhaps I have design schizophrenia? 

Sorry if it's cheating, but I was torn between Windsor Smith's kitchen and an all-time fabulous Tom Scheerer bedroom [which I've blogged about before].

I was going to be all brilliant about my search for "the perfect room" and tear through my stockpiled magazines then scan the image.  But life is currently going at an insane speed and I could only dream of having such a luxury of time. 

So from here I'm handing it over to you.  You can decide which room is better - the dreamy kitchen or the tranquil bedroom.  Be sure to give your room a good argument on why it's the better of the two. 

daybed dilemma...

Not long ago, our two girls decided to share a bedroom.  Since the concept passed our "road test" over the summer, I took the plunge and designed a pretty cool bunk bed and had it built for their room.  The're quite satisfied.  As a result we have an extra bedroom upstairs.  I'm turning it into a playroom/back up bedroom. 

As of now, I'm completely torn on what direction to take this "extra" room.  It's currently a bright apple green since it was my oldest daughter's room.  But I may soften the room a bit and take it to a hushed blue or something along the lines of Carrington Beige by Ben Moore.  Still pondering.

In the meantime, I need to pick a bed.  For this space a daybed would offer the versatility we need.

A)  the Aston Daybed [I could see putting two cylinder pillows on either side in a neutral]

B)  the New Canaan Daybed
