I love the work of talented artist Byron Gin.  

He's really got the bird thing down pat.  His work is pretty, yet has a certain grit that feels fresh and vintage.  He paints many other things, go check out his work right here. 

Speaking of birds, I have a really STRANGE QUESTION:  Does anyone remember the rap song from around 1998 that had lyrics in it that said, "bird, bird bird...bird is the word."  For the life of me I cannot remember the name of that song and it's driving me crazy.  And I really want it in my itunes. 

Can anyone help?

Fabulous Fifi...

I have a dilemma.  Just when I thought I could not get enough of this oh-so-chic dining room...

I received this LOVELY LITTLE SURPRISE from Laura of FIFI FLOWERS...  

Is it wonderful or what?  It happened so fast...I saw her comment on my post and in a few short days she emailed me this glorious painting.  [Husband be aware: Someday I must build this room.  It is perfect for our family, and now I've seen it in two different color variations and adore both.]

FIFI FLOWERS DID SOME REVAMPING OF THE ROOM:

• a slight color scheme change
• added panels to create more warmth
• swapped banquette fabric to a solid for simplicity
• added an element of surprise by covering two chairs with fabric that matches the panels
• threw in some stripes on the upper window treatments to bring it all together

She says, "A little colorization modification inspired by Osborne & Little"

Close your eyes and picture a white house.  In your mind where would you place it?  In a sunny meadow? Alongside a stream?  Overlooking the ocean?  Under a midnight sky sprinkled with stars?  Or in the midst of a field of poppies?

I'm a sucker for white houses.  And I love this one by artist Diane Bronstein.  There's a certain grace to its simplicity and color.  This image leads much to the imagination. 

Diane says, "This was done on linen and is a small painting -- 6x6.  It was done from my heart."
