Friend and fellow blogger, Marla, asked me to blog about houseplants.
She said, "Can you please blog about good indoor plants. Mine are all dead due to a complete lack of attention and I need new ones. Okay, I need a new ONE. I only have one indoor plant...in a small pot...but it is dead and thus not pleasing to the eye."
My first reaction [as I looked at my nearly dead creeping fern] was to say, "I'm so the wrong person for this task." First because I find growing anything quite intimidating. Second, because my indoor plants have very short lives since they can't verbally ask for water + sun. To survive in this house, you must be able to make some kind of noise when in need. Example: the husband, children and cat are all still alive. The plants, not so much.
But I didn't want to disappoint my friend. Besides, I mustn't ever upset her, she's my Mac-Daddy computer hook-up.
So I took into consideration Marla's style [contemporary] and her requirements [low maintenance] and I think I FOUND JUST THE PLANT!
It's wheat grass.
Here's what you need:
wheat grass seeds + container + water
I don't think it could be any easier. Marla, just click here to order your seeds.

And guess what? Apparently you can drink its juice and change your health in a good way. Just snip the stems and juice those bad boys. It takes ten days for the seeds to be fully grown and ready to juice.
I'm sure it tastes like #$!% but you'll live longer if you drink it. [so they say]
A few facts about wheat grass juice
- Very rich in chlorophyll and enzymes and contains more than 60 percent chlorophyll, which is an important body builder.
- Prevents the metabolism of carcinogens
- Helps balance blood sugar levels
- Removes toxins from the body
- Reduces tooth decay
- Aids in digestion
In care you're curious, here's what a wheat grass juicer looks like. Hmmm, somehow I don't picture this sitting on my kitchen counter. I'll also need to work on making this sound more appealing, "Hey kids, come on in and have your wheat grass juice, it's getting warm!"
Okay, if I'm scaring you at this point, never fear. The post is done.

I used to be a wheat grass girl. I used to try and do a shot a day, I have since faltered. Maybe growing my own would be the way to go!
